Tennis star Djokovic admits: “Nadal’s behavior pissed me off”

Djokovic revealed that he is one future friendship with Nadal and Federer would “really wish”. Something that was hardly possible before. “It’s clear that we didn’t get along very well on the pitch.”

It really annoyed him when he met another big guy in the catacombs before games. “The way Nadal always jumps around before he goes on court. He does sprints next to you in the locker room. I could even hear the music playing on his headphones. That pissed me off.” The 36-year-old record major champ (24 triumphs) still hopes that Nadal will face him on the court again soon. “That’s it greatest rivalry the sport has ever had. Nadal is a great fighter.”

Memories of an epic finale

Of the dramatic and almost historical Wimbledon-Finale 2019 Djokovic has a special memory: The Serb defeated the Swiss 7:6, 1:6, 7:6, 4:6, 13:12 after almost five hours. The 24-time Masters winner says today: “Statistically speaking, he was the one in every respect better playersbut I won the match.”
