Because of the corona virus, he could only celebrate with himself.

Swiss tennis star Stanislas Wawrinka turned 35 on March 28. That would actually be a reason for a big birthday party. The corona virus, however, puts a spanner in the works for the Romand. Instead of going out to party with friends, Stan has to stay in isolation at home.

A rather dreary affair. But Stan has proven with funny Instagram posts in the last few days and weeks that he can spend his time in quarantine relatively well in a creative way. Then he has a date with a teddy bear or plays a game of Pac-Man. But world number 17 seems to have particularly enjoyed his clones. Ten stans gathered in the living room a few days ago and later kept him company during training. And they won’t let him down on his birthday either, as his latest Instagram video proves.

The clones save the day
A depressed Stan sits all alone at the dining table and looks desperately at his watch. Everything is set up for the birthday meal, but all of his friends seem to have let him down. Stan has already resigned himself to his fate when his clones suddenly appear. They sit around the table and celebrate their big day with the birthday child. Someone even baked a little cake for him. When the real Stan blows out the candle, his “friends” clap his hands. The day is saved!

“Nothing can stop me from celebrating my birthday,” the Romand proudly writes under the video. As a result, he is showered with congratulations from his real friends on social media. And even better: once again he manages to put a smile on his loyal followers’ faces. Because almost a quarter of a million fans have already watched the short sketch. (jk)
