Tennis player Zverev again accused of domestic violence against ex-girlfriend

German tennis player of Russian origin Alexander Zverev is accused of inflicting bodily harm on his ex-girlfriend and mother of his daughter Brenda Patea. About it informs publication RTL with reference to the press secretary of the Berlin criminal court. Representatives of Patea also confirmed the information, but declined to comment.
The public prosecutor in Germany petitioned to open a criminal case against Zverev. RTL notes that at the moment a warrant for a fine has been issued, upon payment of which the “defendant in the future case” can be exempted from attending court. The prosecutor’s office is investigating.
According to the publication, the amount of the fine should be almost half a million euros. Zverev responded to RTL’s request that he was not ready to comment.
In 2020, Zverev was accused of domestic violence by his other ex-girlfriend Olga Sharypova. She claimed that they tried to choke her with a pillow, hit her head against the wall and twisted her arms. However, the girl did not contact law enforcement agencies, so the Association of Professional Tennis Players conducted an investigation. After more than a year, it ended “due to the lack of reliable evidence and eyewitness accounts.” Zverev himself denied the allegations against him.
