Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic have left their mark on world tennis so much that it is almost impossible to decide who is the best of the three. When deciding, André Agassi put forward an idea to determine the real GOAT.
Through their career and their numerous titles, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic will have forever marked the history of world tennis. The first two are tied for the number of tournament victories in the Grand Slam (20). The last one is not very far (18) and is strongly determined to join them. The three players are rightly considered the best of all time. But the debate rages on when it comes to nominating the biggest. The question is not simple, but André Agassi seems to have found the solution to separate them.
“Put them in a tournament that has multiple surfaces, and have them play against each other a hundred times”
In comments relayed by We Love Tennis, the former American tennis player came up with the idea of pitting Nadal, Federer and Djokovic several times on various surfaces to designate the real best player in history: ” The problem with answering that is that their careers are still ongoing, you know what I mean. A lot can still happen. It’s quite different to say who has the best career and it’s different to say when someone is playing their best, who is the best. We have the best on fast courts with Roger, we have the best on clay and we have the best on hard courts. Put them in a tournament that has multiple surfaces, and have them play against each other a hundred times. and I will give you the answer. »
