The organization of the event has confirmed the participation of Djokovic, recent champion at Wimbledon and who already played this team competition in 2018. the first time that the four members of the ‘Big Four’ come together to compete for the same team.
For now, the European team will have four of them, in addition to those that will be announced later, while the rest of the world team account, pending further confirmation, with the Canadian Happy Auger-Alsothe American Taylor Fritz and the Argentine Diego Schwartzman. The Europe team is captained by Bjorn Borg and the rest of the world by John McEnroe.
The competition, since its inception in 2017, has been dominated by Europeans, who they have won all four editions disputed. In addition, iconic images have been seen such as the doubles that formed Federer and Nadal in Prague 2017 and the one composed by Federer and Djokovic in Chicago 2018.

The 2022 edition of the Laver Cup will take place at the O2 in London, which from 2009 to 2020 hosted the ATP Finals, of the September 23 to 25. This tournament is expected to be the return to the federer official competition after more than a year in dry dock.
