Novak Djokovic (34) chases the records on the court. His goal for 2021 is clear: He wants to win the “Golden Slam”, i.e. all four Grand Slams and gold at the Olympics. So far, only tennis legend Steffi Graf (52) has achieved this in 1988.
–
If the Serb wins in Tokyo, he can refine the all-time record at the US Open in September. It would also be the 21st Grand Slam title, which would finally leave Roger Federer (39) and Rafael Nadal (35) behind. A year full of historical events.

Federer remains the king of coal
On the pitch, the Serb has all the trumps in hand – but off the court, Federer is probably unmatched ahead. The maestro has bagged over a billion Swiss francs (before taxes) since starting his career. With golf icon Tiger Woods (45), boxing champion Floyd Mayweather (44) and soccer superstars Cristiano Ronaldo (36) and Lionel Messi (34), he is one of the five active athletes who have reached this incredible threshold.
–
According to Forbes Magazine, Novak Djokovic has earned the equivalent of almost CHF 400 million since the beginning of his career (2003). In the future, too, the Serbs will not come close to Federer financially. Because the Swiss should remain a popular advertising face for partners such as Uniqlo, Credit Suisse, Rolex and Moët or Chandon even after his sporting career.
–
Djokovic won’t care. His full focus at the moment is on sports. While Federer is slowly but surely making plans for after his career, Novak, at 34 years old, is hotter than ever. (fmü)
