Nole Kecmanovic comeback, Fabio passes 6-2 6-3 and will face Otte for a place in the semifinals. Musetti and Sonego postponed due to bad weather
After winning a comeback against Laslo Djere in Wednesday’s marathon, Novak Djokovic emerges again from a complicated situation in the challenge with another Serb – Miomir Kecmanovic, seeded number 7 – and brings home a game that can be fundamental in regaining his right sensations on the pitch. The number 1 in the world wins after finding himself under a set and a break against a fit player, as evidenced by the good 18th place in the race: a match in crescendo that of Nole, who thus reaches the semi-final in the home tournament by finding a better game than previous releases.

The match
—
Djokovic’s fans will hit hard, but the last two players capable of winning against Kecmanovic went on to win the tournament: Taylor Fritz in Indian Wells and Carlos Alcaraz in Miami. As in the two rounds of the Sunshine Double, the number 38 in the world comes out in the quarter-finals. Djokovic is now two games from the first title of a troubled season, a goal that is far from obvious considering the efforts in the first two matches in Belgrade after the elimination in Monte Carlo against Davidovich Fokina: after losing the first set 6-4, the number 1 in the world found himself 2-1 down in the second, with a break behind. Bravo Nole to immediately find the 2-2, before closing at 6-3. In the third set Djokovic seemed real: the decisive break came at 3-3 and Novak then closed at 6-3, also winning the last game in response. Is Nole Coming Back?

Fognini forward
—
Fabio Fognini qualified for the quarter-finals of the ATP 250 in Belgrade. The 34-year-old blue now n. 62 in the ranking beat Slovenian Aljaz Bedene 6-2 6-3, world n.164. Match not exciting but solid with Fabio who gave up the serve at the start ending up 2-0. The scenario changed in the fourth game, which lasted 20 points, at the end of which the Ligurian, with the seventh useful ball, scored the 2-2 counter-break. From that moment Fognini rose slightly in level and that was enough to take home the set for 6-2. Fabio had to cancel a break also at the beginning of the second set (2-1). The Ligurian tried the extension again with another break (5-3) and this time he closed 6-3 at the second match point on a backhand buried in the net by his opponent. Tomorrow in the quarterfinals Fognini will face the German Oscar Otte, n.67, who beat Aslan Karatsev, n.30. In the afternoon it is again the turn of Novak Djokovic, who after fighting with Djere crosses the dangerous Kecmanovic.

Rain in Barcelona
—
Instead, everything stopped in Barcelona, where this morning both Lorenzo Musetti should have taken the field, in the rematch of Monte Carlo against Diego Schwartzman and Lorenzo Sonego, also hunting for the quarter-finals against Pablo Carreno. The rain that continues to fall has postponed the program. The matches, including that of Tsitsipas with Ivashka stopped in the evening at 5-1, will not start today.
