The Dierdorf tennis club was founded on January 15, 1971. How everything started back then and what has happened to this day will be presented in a four-part series.
Dierdorf. An excerpt from the letter from those interested in tennis at the time:

because the way to the next tennis court was too far
because you did not find contact with like-minded people
because you finally wanted to do sports again
because you’re not just interested in football
because tennis is a sport that is fun for all ages
because you think that young people should be offered more sports ??
This resulted in the constituent assembly with eight founding members. A loan was granted thanks to 14 guaranteeing members. The leisure center at the castle park was supported by the city of Dierdorf: The foundation stone was laid!
In the same year, on July 31, 1971, places 1 and 2 were ceremoniously opened. Some were already active in tennis and were looking for a nearby facility to play. In particular, the opportunity to practice this sporting movement in all fitness levels and age groups let many health-conscious people join in.
Competitions provided an incentive and the conviviality of team sports and club life were of course just as attractive. The number of members grew steadily as it was the first tennis club in the region. In the next few years, 3rd and 4th place followed, a ball wall at the time and the rental of sanitary rooms and a club room on the ground floor of the indoor pool. In 1978 the following article was advertised: ?? Tennisclub Dierdorf is currently accepting new members ?? Plant with four places not overloaded ??.
It was founded more than ten years before the tennis boom by Boris Becker and Steffi Graf, which led to the phase ?? Deutschland ist Tennisland ?? ushered in. We will report on the further years of the association.

The 50th anniversary event will take place on Sunday, August 29, 2021 from 11 a.m.
On May 1, 2021, the season will open with the family festival: everyone interested is invited. The tennis school is the contact person on site: in the season, beginners and advanced courses are offered for all age groups.
