Tenerife hosts the Spartan Evolution for the first time in Europe | Radio Club Tenerife | Present

Tenerife will become between November 13 and 21 a benchmark for trail and obstacle races thanks to the Spartan Evolution. An event that will allow participants to take part in the brand’s classic obstacle courses, the Spartan Race; in his Trail races, and in the DEKA. All this in the same event.

Spartan’s biggest competition will begin on November 13 with DEKA, a circuit-format fitness competition with three modalities. This is followed by the Spartan Trail on November 14, a 10-50km mountain race with unique and very different routes. And finally, on the 20th and 21st, where all the modalities of the classic obstacle course, Spartan Race, will take place.

The event covers two full weekends and will take place in different places on the iconic island, thus showing all the possibilities offered by the unique international tourist destination that is Tenerife.

All this will begin on Saturday, November 13, debuting for the first time in Europe DEKA with three modalities:

– DEKA Fit: 10 functional exercise stations with 500m of running between them (5km) (only competitive modality).

– DEKA Mile: 10 functional exercise stations with 160m of running between them (1 mile).

– DEKA Strong: 10 functional exercise stations, no running in between.

On Sunday 14, La Laguna hosts the Spartan Trail Tenerife, more specifically in the Caseríos de Anaga. A trail running competition (10km, 21km, 50km) created to change the world of trail running as we know it.

It aims to be a unique, different and exclusive race where the athlete’s experience before, during and after the race is an experience of another level. This first edition aims to position this event as one of the best trail events in the world and proof of this is the presence of two world references of this sport such as Miguel Heras and Anna Comet.

Finally, a week later, on November 20 and 21, Puerto De la Cruz hosts the Spartan Race, the largest obstacle course in the world in all modalities and distances: Sprint (5km, 20 obstacles), Super (10km, 25 obstacles ), Beast (21km, 30 obstacles), and Ultra (50km, 60 obstacles).

Spartan remains true to its philosophy by growing in the most difficult moments and the best way to do so is to be accompanied by the best destination, Tenerife, and with the best travel companions, La Laguna and Puerto de la Cruz.

The estimated number of participants in each of the tests ranges from those of the Spartan Race obstacle course, between 1,500 to 2,000 runners, in Spartan Trail between 350 and 450, and for DEKA between 400 and 500. In all cases, from different nationalities, mainly from Spain, Germany, France, United Kingdom or Italy, among others.

The realization of this race can have a very important media impact for Tenerife, both in the media (television, radio or specialized press), and in social networks, where the different Spartan Race profiles in Europe are around one million followers. The aim is to make Tenerife a reference destination in the Spartan world in particular and in the world of sporting events in general. The important strategic location of events, as is the case in Tenerife, make them very attractive and become the perfect excuse for sightseeing.

Spartan has been present in more than 40 countries around the world since 2007, holding more than 220 races a year. What supposes a participation of more than 1.5 million annual runners.
