Tencent wants to buy out Crytek. Germany is afraid of espionage

The German developer Crytek is to be taken over by a larger company. It is possible that the Chinese giant, Tencent, will buy them. Germany is concerned that this takeover may be linked to espionage.

According to the German editorial office of BILD, Tencent is seriously interested in acquiring Crytek. A similar one is not just about taking over the game studio, but also for support for the Chinese army.

The CryEngine engine made famous, among other things, by the series Crysiswould be used to produce war simulators for the Chinese army. This would allow an attempted war against Taiwan and the armies of Western countries.

In addition, by acquiring the company, China would have an insight into how armed conflicts are simulating the US, Germany and other Western countries. This is because they use software provided by Crytek.
