Tenants also pay more in a tight housing market | Money

This is apparent from figures from property management club VGM NL and real estate association NVM for the second quarter.

New tenants pay an average of €10.12 per square meter for a house and €14.80 for an apartment. The prices of new construction rose faster than of existing construction.

Expats

In and around Amsterdam, which also includes Almere and Amstelveen, rents are stabilizing compared to the first quarter of the year. They are even slightly lower than last year. Furnished homes in particular, popular with expats, became cheaper.

Prices in Arnhem have also fallen on an annual basis.

In Rotterdam, prices rose by an average of no less than 25.9% on an annual basis. This is mainly because a large luxury residential tower was completed, which significantly increased the average. Prices also rose in The Hague, Eindhoven, Haarlem and Utrecht.
