Ten Years of the Sun: NASA’s mesmerizing timelapse

A NASA probe has continuously photographed the Sun for ten years. What discover the star otherwise.

June 2010. NASA launches a Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) probe to observe the Sun from every angle. Its main mission? Photograph the star (4.600 billion years old) in high resolution every 0.75 second.

Rich with its 425 million photos, the American space organization has chosen to compile them to make a timelapse of 61 minutes shared on social networks.

For a little over an hour, internet users can therefore discover the activity of the Sun during the last ten years, between solar flares and astral irruption.

For NASA, these photos also represent a wealth of information on the place of Earth in space.
