“Here it’s not about who is stronger between men and women, it’s a matter of talent to show emotions on stage. I have reached second and third place in other categories as well as being Reina Evafe, and that fills me with pride and motivation to keep moving forward.”
He assures that playing the box was not imposed by anyone, it is a gift that God gave him towards music, since he started in the guacharaca and with the support of his mother and professor Jaime Arrieta, he managed to digitize the box to get them. the best pieces of music.
Similarly, María José Hernández, from Lorica-Córdoba, ensures that festivals show that women’s sensitivity has nothing to do with their talent for playing the box. “Our women have not lost their place, on the contrary, every day their presence is greater and competition outside the male group is the best way to evaluate the progress of the female gender in vallenato . For the fifth time in a row, from Cúcuta Norte de Santander, Julieth Pineda will participate, who ensures that her goal is to always leave a good name and show that women are also vallenato. “I’ve been playing the accordion for twelve years, and I get my biggest lessons from my father, who is also an accordion player and has a training academy. Also competing is Paula Dariana Montiem Espitia, who for the first time wanted to compete at Fèis Vallenato. “I was a little scared, but I took refuge in the same box to do my best because this is a good event that takes place in the cradle of Vallenato.
