Ten thousand volunteers are missing for World Youth Day [JMJ] one hundred days before the start of the world meeting of young Catholics in Lisbon.
The WYD organization had set a target of 30,000 volunteers, but a little less than four months before the start of the event, only 20,000 young people have registered, informs the Public.
Volunteers are of various nationalities (Portuguese, Spanish, Brazilian, Hungarian, Filipino) and live in Portugal with host families or in congregations.
This Sunday, to mark the last hundred days until the start of WYD, the churches of more than 600 parishes will ring their bells at 8:23 pm (referring to the year in which World Youth Day takes place in Portugal, which runs from the 1st to the 6th of August.
