Ten Teenage Boys Thwarted in Rape Attempt by Inhabitant of Gunungputri, Bogor Regency, West Java

Inhabitant Gunungputri, Bogor Regency, West Java, succeeded in thwarting a rape attempt by 10 teenage boys against a girl. The ten teenagers were taken to the village office.

Gunungputri Police Chief AKP Didin Komarudin said the police had not received a report regarding this case. According to him, this case is still being mediated in Gunungputri Village.

“It hasn’t arrived at the Sector Police yet, we are still mediating information in the village,” said Didin to reporters, Friday (19/1/2024).

Meanwhile, Village Head Gunungputri, Daman Huri, said that the attempted rape case was still being handled at the village office. The ten teenagers were also detained and questioned.

“This is still in the village, because we were carrying out a BAP just finished this afternoon. Then the victim was waiting for medical results. But according to the victim’s confession, it was just an experiment, we weren’t in a hurry, maybe because we got a report from a fisherman, so we were immediately alert, Linmas immediately moved, so in less than two hours the Gunungputri Village Linmas managed to arrest all the perpetrators,” said Daman when contacted separately.

Daman said all the perpetrators were junior high school students. This incident occurred on Friday (19/1) at around 02.00 WIB in the morning.

“So there are those who are directly involved, there are those who are not directly involved, there are 5 who are directly involved, the other 5 are just liaisons, for example picking up, they don’t carry out that activity,” he said.

Daman said the perpetrator and victim allegedly met through social media. The victim was also allegedly picked up by the perpetrator and taken to the location.

“Because it was a friend, they said they were acquaintances through social media, in the end they exchanged phone numbers, often chatted, met often, it happened like that,” he said.

“At first there weren’t any women, maybe they were chatting, chatting, still not sleeping, when they were invited there, they picked them up. If they were picked up, it means they already knew each other,” he added.
