A bus crash in Croatia killed ten people and injured 45 on Sunday, police said.
A bus with a Kosovo license plate on its way from Frankfurt in Germany to the Kosovo capital, Pristina, slipped off the road and collapsed around six in the morning.
The accident took place near the Serbian border, on a highway with heavy traffic during the summer.
The victims were taken to a hospital in the nearby town of Slavonski Brod. The injuries to eight people are serious, hospital management said.
“This is one of the worst car accidents we have ever seen,” said local police chief Franjo Galic. According to him, there were more than 60 people on the bus.
The Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrei Plenkovic, has expressed his condolences to the families of the victims of the accident and expressed hope that the victims will recover.
Croatian government officials have left for the crash site.
