Ten people, including two children, were transferred on Tuesday evening to various Brussels hospitals with smoke poisoning, after a fire on the ground floor of a two-storey house in Marcqstraat, in the center of the capital. This is reported by the spokesman for the Brussels fire brigade, Walter Derieuw. The fire was quickly under control.
The fire brigade received a call around 10 p.m. Tuesday evening. Although the fire was quickly under control, the building is uninhabitable.
It is not yet clear what caused the fire.
Forty firefighters came to the scene, and the police provided a safety zone.
