Neymar said he was considering “giving up” after tearing his cruciate ligament last October. After almost ten months of rehabilitation, the 32-year-old Brazilian from Al-Hilal is now close to coming back – apparently it could happen in September.
“Since I got this injury, days have been difficult. Days I want to give up,” Neymar wrote on Instagram. “It’s hard to go through all this. But this is a warrior. I won’t stop until I get what I want! God is my strength and my fortress. We will keep fighting every day.”
Neymar moved from Paris Saint-Germain to Saudi Arabia for 90 million euros last summer, but has only played five competitive games for his new club since then due to his long injury layoff. He also missed out on participating in the Copa América with the Brazilian national team.
