The Temporary Market of Barcelos starts operating on Tuesday, October 6, the municipality announced.
The equipment will operate from Monday to Friday, from 07:00 to 19:00 and on Saturdays from 07:00 to 13:00.
Located at Rua Filipa Borges, in front of Pontevedra Square, close to the location of the Market being refurbished, it will be separated by sectors, with loading and unloading areas and the following points of sale: five fishmongers and eight sardine stalls, three butchers, a clothing store, a florist shop and the metrology service of the City Council.
During the week, some agricultural producers will be able to sell at the Temporary Market, in places of land.
The Market has support areas, including garbage collection, cleaning areas, cold storage, sanitary facilities separated by sex and for people with reduced mobility, facilities for employees.
The sale of agricultural products, fruit, floriculture and clothing will continue to be made in Campo da Feira, along the same lines, that is, on Saturdays, between 07:00 and 13:00.
The Chamber stresses that the operation of the Temporary Market complies with a contingency plan approved by the Health Delegation and has all the conditions for traders to carry out their activity with convenience and safety and is equipped with the necessary equipment for the operation of each activity.
Visitors and merchants must comply with previously established circuits, as well as with all respiratory etiquette, mask use and hand disinfection rules.
The provisional installations of the Municipal Market of Barcelos, estimated at 149 thousand euros, welcome traders while the requalification of the Municipal Market, whose works are in progress and have a budget of more than three million euros, is taking place.
