Ten infected at nuns’ house in Guimarães

The Casa da Sagrada Família of S. Clemente de Sande, in Guimarães, registered ten positive cases of covid-19.

According to Santiago Group, there are six nuns, three employees and the institution’s doctor.

The infected nuns were transferred to the Seminário do Verbo Divino, in the parish of Azurém, in the same municipality.

MINHO confirmed with the CDOS the transport of the six nuns, in an operation that involved the firemen of Caldas das Taipas, Vizela, Riba d’Ave and Fafe.

In Dclarifications to More Guimarães, the parish priest of S. Clemente de Sande, Joaquim Pereira, said that the rest were carried out on Friday and the results arrived on Tuesday, adding that Casa Sagrada does not have “sufficient conditions” to accommodate the sick.

Paula Oliveira, councilor for Social Action in Guimarães, told Lusa that 48 tests were carried out at the institution.

These four infected are at home, quarantined.

The Casa da Sagrada Família facilities are, however, being disinfected.
