18:47 – Optimism reigns within the selection of Manchester United towards the start of the new season. According to Scott McTominay, that is thanks to Erik ten Hag.
In conversation with United Daily tells McTominay about the positive impact that the arrival of Ten Hag has had. “Now is the time to be optimistic,” he begins. “We are very much looking forward to what is to come as the way the coaches have presented their ideas to all the players and staff is very promising.”
McTominay mainly rested during the summer break. “I feel good, fresh and fit,” said the Scot, who is currently in Thailand with the Manchester United selection. “We are looking forward to a good week in terms of matches and training. I think all players are keen to do their job well for the new coach.”
Manchester United will play their first game under Ten Hag on Tuesday. Then a friendly match against Liverpool is scheduled in Bangkok. The selection then flies to Australia, where friendly matches against Melbourne Victory (July 15) and Crystal Palace (July 19) will be played.
