London (dpa)Manchester United manager Eric ten Hag has asked his squad players not to get distracted by the approaching World Cup and stressed the need for players to do everything in their power to beat the Fulham.
And the British news agency “BA Media” said that Fulham’s match against their host Manchester United, which will be played tomorrow, Sunday, is the last match in the English Premier League, which will be suspended for six weeks due to of the World Cup.
Manchester United enter the last round before stopping, occupying fifth place, and try to cap off the promising start with Ten Hag, who took over for the team in the summer, by beating Fulham.
Manchester United lost their last 1/3 league game to Aston Villa but got back on their winning streak by beating the same contender in the 4/2 League Cup last Thursday.
“I think all the players are aware of the importance of the match against Fulham,” said Ten Hag. I will not consider the World Cup.
He added: “We will push the best team, until Sunday. This is to Manchester United’s benefit and Manchester United’s only benefit.”
And he added: “It will be a difficult match. I think everything in the Premier League is very close, and what I’ve seen from Fulham so far is a very dynamic team.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Anthony will be assessed before traveling to the capital, London, following their injuries.
Jadon Sancho has also been absent recently, due to illness, and Raphael Varane is not expected to participate due to a thigh injury, which was not very serious and has not ruled him out of France’s World Cup squad.
The absence of Varane, 29, raises the chances that team captain Harry Maguire will play more minutes before traveling to Qatar with the England national team.
Maguire played in the first two games under Ten Hag, but due to poor performances and injuries, only featured in seven games.
On Maguire’s level as the World Cup approaches, Ten Hag said: “I think he’s ready.”
He added: “I see him every day in training, I see his matches. He’s back from injury, but he’s ready to play at the highest level.
