Ten EU countries to receive 400 immigrant minors from a burnt-out camp in Greece – Abroad – News

France and Germany will accept the majority of immigrant minors – each has agreed to admit between 100 and 150 minors, Zehofer said.

It has already been reported that a number of large fires broke out in and around Greece’s largest migrant camp, the Moria camp on the island of Lesbos, on Wednesday night, leading to the evacuation of most of the camp’s occupants. Immigrants have been left homeless and forced to live on the side of the road.

Moria’s camp was crowded. According to the latest figures, the camp, which is officially designed to accommodate 2,757 people, was home to 12,700 asylum seekers, including some 4,000 children.

No fires have been reported.
