Employees of the animal ambulance have found a garbage bag with ten dead chickens in Oldenzaal. Police are investigating who dumped the animals there.
The dead animals were found on Wednesday. According to the police, the garbage bag contained the remains of about ten brown broiler chickens. It is unknown how the chickens died, but police believe the animals may have been used to train dogs for dog fighting.

“It is striking that these chickens have apparently met a cruel end,” the police wrote on Facebook. “Investigation will show whether a criminal offense has been committed here.” Police are calling on witnesses or anyone with more information to come forward.
According to the police, fifteen live chickens of the same species were also found in a meadow next to the site. These animals were taken by the animal ambulance and placed elsewhere, reports RTV East.
