Yesterday, four patients died in Curaçao again from the effects of corona. Three layers in intensive care, one patient died in a care home. Saturday and Sunday six people died, five in intensive care and one at home. This brings the death toll on the Easter weekend to ten.
Since the start of the corona crisis in March last year, 52 people have now died from the effects of the virus. The situation in the CMC hospital remains “serious, but manageable,” said medical director Ingemar Merkies at a press conference yesterday afternoon.
There are currently 126 patients in the CMC, 37 of whom are in intensive care. Two patients on that ward have been transferred to Aruba. 4,489 people are infected and are in isolation or home quarantine. Just over 150,000 people live on Curaçao.
