An additional heavy snow warning has been in effect in some areas of Gyeonggi Province.

The Metropolitan Meteorological Office announced on the 12th that as of 5:30 p.m., it will issue heavy snow warnings for 10 areas in the province.

The places where heavy snow warnings were issued were in Gunpo, Gwacheon, Guri, Anyang, Seongnam, Gapyeong, Yangpyeong, Namyangju, Gwangju, and Hanam.

According to the Meteorological Administration, the amount of snow cover that day was 5.7 cm in Gunpo, 4.9 cm in Gwacheon, 4.7 cm in Guri, 3.9 cm in Anyang, 3.7 cm in Namyangju, and 3.4 cm in Seongnam.

It was found that the snow cloud belt, which was strongly developed by the influence of the pneumatic bone passing through the north, is gradually moving to the southeastern part of Gyeonggi and the Yeongseo Gangwon region. The Meteorological Administration predicts that snow will fall all over the province until this night.

At the same time, the heavy snow warnings for the four provinces (Gwangmyeong, Goyang, Gimpo, and Siheung) that were previously issued were lifted.

Heavy snow warning is issued when it is expected that snowfall of 5cm or more will be recorded.

An official from the Meteorological Administration said, “When driving a vehicle due to the short visibility, we should take care of traffic safety, such as slowing down driving while maintaining a sufficient distance.”

Meanwhile, the province is concerned about the safety of citizens who have suffered a lot from the effects of the recent heavy snowfall, and is currently entering the first stage emergency work system.
