Temporary Suspension of Rice Export and Re-export: Ministry of Economy Announcement (2023)

The Ministry of Economy announced the temporary suspension of exporting and re-exporting rice outside the country for a period of 4 months, starting from Friday, July 28, 2023, according to Ministerial Resolution No. (120) of 2023.
The decision included banning the export and re-export of rice originating in the Republic of India imported into the country, including free zones, after the date of July 20, 2023, as this applies to all rice varieties that fall under the harmonized system code of the unified customs tariff (1006), which is peeled rice. (rice with a syringe attachment), hulled rice (brown rice), fully or partially milled rice, whether it is smoothed or polished, and broken rice.
The ministry clarifies that companies wishing to export or re-export these varieties of rice must submit a request to the Ministry of Economy to obtain an export permit outside the country, provided that this request is supported by all documents that help verify the data related to the shipment to be exported in terms of origin. The date of the transaction and any other requirements that the Ministry may require in this regard.
The ministry noted that companies wishing to export or re-export rice types and products that do not originate in the Republic of India must submit a request to the Ministry of Economy in order to obtain an export permit outside the country, provided that this request is supported by all documents that support verification of the origin of the shipment. To be exported outside the country.
The Ministry confirms that the permission to export rice products that it will issue to companies is valid for 30 days from the date of its issuance and must be submitted to the concerned customs department, in order to complete the customs procedures for exporting the shipment outside the country, provided that the request is submitted electronically through e.economy@antidumping Or go directly to the headquarters of the Ministry of Economy to submit it. The Ministry indicates that this decision can be extended automatically, unless a decision is issued to cancel its implementation.
