‘Temporary House of Representatives of 161 million euros not corona proof’ | Inland

That is in confidential reports in the hands of the AD. Three external agencies have investigated whether the new location of the parliament complies with the corona rules.

The criticism is not harsh: the building is ‘not corona proof’, there are warnings for ‘congestion’ and ‘far-reaching measures’ are needed to be able to open the building. This makes the shortcomings more serious than previously assumed.

If it is up to the cabinet, the House of Representatives will move to a temporary parliament on Bezuidenhoutseweg in The Hague next summer. The move is necessary due to the large-scale renovation of the Binnenhof. MPs have to move their work for 5.5 years to the former office colossus, which was recently renovated for 161 million euros.
