Temporary employment group Randstad has been the target of hackers. These have struck at branches of the company in the US, Poland, Italy and France.
The hack is still under investigation, but it is clear that the hacker collective Egregor is behind it, which has published a small part of the stolen data. These include Excel files and Powerpoint presentations on financial matters and documents on tax issues.
The hack was recently discovered and external experts and forensic investigators have been brought in to determine its full extent. Randstad’s ongoing operations are not hampered. As far as it now appears, the break-in did not affect the IT systems of the group’s relations.
Randstad says it does everything it can to protect the data of clients and relations. It indicates that hackers have been very active in recent months and that multiple companies have been targeted by similar attacks.
