Tempi: A special session of the plenary session is requested by the MPs of the PaSoK – 2024-02-18 00:14:20

A special meeting of the Parliament for the tragedy in Tempi on February 28 is requested by the MPs of the PaSoK, members of the Commission of Inquiry.

More specifically, in a letter to the Speaker of the Parliament, Mr. Konstantinos Tassoulas, the MPs of PaSoK, members of the investigation committee for the investigation of the tragedy in Tempi, Milena Apostolaki, Giorgos Nikitiadis and Apostolos Panas, request that it be held on February 28, when it is one year since the tragedy in Tempi, a special meeting of the Plenary of the Parliament dedicated to the fatal accident, to observe a minute’s silence, to pronounce the names of our dead fellow citizens from the Bureau, as well as to illuminate the Hall of the Hellenic Parliament with specific reference to the tragic accident.

The text of the letter from the PASoK MPs:

“Dear Mr. President of the Parliament,

February 28 marks one year since the accident in Tempe in which 57 of our fellow human beings lost their lives.

This is the biggest railway accident in the history of our country.

Knowing that in the past you have practically shown your sensitivity in cases of events that led to the unjust loss of innocent people, we would like to call on you, not only in our capacity as Members of Parliament, but as citizens who remain deeply shocked by this tragic event , to take all the necessary actions so that on the day, which completes one year since the tragic accident in Tempe, on the one hand, there will be a special session of the Plenary of the Parliament dedicated to the tragic accident and a minute’s silence will be observed, and the names will be announced by the Presidium of our dead fellow citizens, as well as lighting up the Hall of the Hellenic Parliament with specific reference to the tragic accident.

Such a highly symbolic move is an indication of the minimum due respect to the memory of the victims. It is also a small contribution to our obligation that no one ever forgets what happened in Tempe on 2/28/2023.

With price,

MILENA APOSTOLAKI

GEORGIOS NIKITIADIS

APOSTOLIS PANAS

the MPs of the PASOK – Movement for Change, Members of the Commission of Inquiry to investigate the crime of Tempe and all aspects related to it”.

The Nikitiadis announcement

In addition, the Dodecanese Member of Parliament of PaSoK and member of the investigative committee, Giorgos Nikitiadis, issued a statement regarding the witness Alexandra Rogakou, deputy director of the National Transparency Authority, and her answers in the context of her testimony.

With the evasion I will “answer you tomorrow when I will be informed” answered the questions raised by Giorgos Nikitiadis Member of Parliament for Dodecanese and member of the Commission of Inquiry investigating the crime of Tempe, the witness Alexandra Rogaku deputy director of the National Transparency Authority, discrediting her work Commission.

After the examination of the witness, Mr. Nikitiadis made the following statement:

“Complete discredit, only these words can describe the answers we ultimately did not receive from Ms. Rogaku. Her constant refrain, “I’ll get back to you tomorrow,” demonstrates how seriously she has taken the case. Witnesses are obliged to answer on the spot. Obviously, Ms. Rogaku will respond when she consults with her political superior. In this way it is impossible to be led to the causes of the Tempe crime. Some don’t want the truth to come to light.”
