Summer officially begins on Friday and temperatures are expected to be in the 100+ degree range all week.
The mercury will also hit 100 degrees on Tuesday and is expected to hit 103 or 014 by the weekend, according to the National Weather Service. The minimum will be in the 70 and 80 degrees, reported KXAS-TV (NBC5).

The heat wave that started in the first weeks of June will continue and that means there is a high risk of forest fires. Heat indices will be below 105 degrees, the forecast indicates.
It is recommended that people drink plenty of water, keep pets indoors, and those who work take frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas. Attention should also be paid to the elderly, sick neighbors and other family members.
Reliant Energy and the City of Dallas opened two refreshment centers in South and West Dallas so people can seek relief from extreme heat. One is located at the Martin Luther King Community Center at 2922 MLK Blvd., and the other is at the West Dallas Multipurpose Center at 2828 Fish Tras Road.
The Electricity Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) announced that it anticipates a record demand of 77,317 megawatts this summer. A record 74,917 megawatts was already reached last week, according to the electricity grid operator.
