MAZATLÁN._ The Cold Front 31, in interaction with a polar trough at higher levels, originate the Seventh Winter Storm of the season, which will move this Sunday over the northwest of the country, while for this week minimum temperatures of up to 4 degrees in Sinaloa.
In its meteorological projection from 2:00 p.m. on Saturday to 8:00 a.m. this Sunday, the National Meteorological Service announced that front 31, in interaction with a polar trough at higher levels, will cause the Seventh Winter Storm in question over the northwest of the country, conditions that will generate a marked drop in temperature and intense wind with dust storms over the northwest and north of the national territory, as well as heavy occasional rains in Baja California and showers in Sonora.
In addition, conditions are anticipated for the fall of sleet or snow in the mountains of Baja California.
While in its meteorological projection of 8:00 am this Sunday at 8:00 am on Monday, the SMN predicted that the Seventh Winter Storm of the season will move over the northwest of the country, ceasing to affect during the early hours of Monday , while the cold front 31 will cross the north and northeast of the Mexican Republic.
“These systems will maintain a very cold environment and strong to intense winds with dustbins over the aforementioned regions, as well as heavy showers and occasional rains in Baja California, Sonora and Chihuahua,” he continued.
“In turn, the freezing environment and possible sleet and snow will continue in the mountains of Baja California, Sonora and Chihuahua.”
He specified that isolated rains of 0.1 to 5 milliliters are expected for this Sunday in Baja California Sur, Coahuila, Tamaulipas, Sinaloa, Durango, Veracruz, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Campeche and Quintan a Roo.
Minimum temperatures of -15 to -10 degrees with frosts are also expected in mountainous areas of Chihuahua and Durango.
For this week, maximum temperatures of between 22 to 29 degrees are forecast in the state of Sinaloa and minimum temperatures of between 4 to 11 degrees.
While for the municipality of Mazatlán, maximum temperatures of between 24 to 28 degrees and minimum temperatures of between 11 to 14 degrees are forecast for this same week, according to meteorological projections.
