temperatures never seen in November – Il Tempo

A lazy but beautiful St. Martin’s Summer with sunshine. Lorenzo Tedici, meteorologist of the website www.iLMeteo.it, makes his prediction to Adnkronos: «San Martino summer late but characterized by good weather as per tradition. A little lazy, given that it arrives two days late, it was supposed to start on Saturday but it arrives today and will last until Thursday. It will be mostly good weather with some scattered clouds.” «To be picky, it will continue to snow in Valle d’Aosta, it will be a little cloudy in Eastern Liguria, in Tuscany, but no rain is expected, wind in Umbria and some clouds in Calabria and Sicily – explains Tedici again -. Basically, however, it will be good weather, no heavy rain, and temperatures will be seven or eight degrees higher than normal. In particular in the Marche, in Abruzzo and also in Rome we will be above 20 degrees, in the Marche 25 degrees are expected and in Rome 23. And this is a lot, about a month before Christmas. So for the San Martino summer it will be fine, but until Thursday then Friday 17th when a disturbance is expected and there it will get worse throughout Italy, with rain, not in Tuscany, which is particularly monitored, while on Saturday the high pressure will return and it will be discreet. In short, at the moment we can’t see the cold winter.”

Stable weather for the San Martino summer also for Serena Giacomin, climatologist and president of the Italian Climate Network, according to whom «this start of the week will have as its main characteristics the stability of the weather, often sunny weather although not always, given that we would also have a bit of cloud cover capable of some local rain in upper Tuscany and some precipitation in the Alpine sector, with snow at very high altitudes, over 2 thousand metres, precisely because the climate will be mild for the period, considering that temperatures are clearly increasing and by Wednesday we will reach seven degrees above normal, with peaks even exceeding 25 degrees on the major islands, while in the north maximums will be around 20 degrees”. «There is high pressure reinforcing the western Mediterranean and Italy will partly remain on the sidelines. This high pressure, therefore, will guarantee stable weather at least until Wednesday also over Italy, then there will be a passing disturbance over the Balkans, which will bring a quick cloudy passage starting from Wednesday night, until Wednesday afternoon from the north to the south, with very little rain – continues Giacomin -. On Thursday there were first signs of a new worsening which should materialize in the night between Thursday and Friday and on Friday for which moderate intensity rain is currently expected in the Tyrrhenian regions, especially in the central south”.
