Temperatures in the US fell to minus 79 degrees Celsius

A powerful Arctic front has slammed into the northeastern United States, dropping temperatures to dangerous levels across the region.

At Mount Washington in New Hampshire, the temperature dropped to -79 degrees Celsius. The US National Weather Service called the temperatures “life-threatening”.

New Hampshire’s Mount Washington State Park, home to the Northeast’s highest and coldest peak, saw temperatures drop to record lows, reported NOVA.
