TEMPERATURES: the great cold and frost arrive from RussiaA bitter cold is coming from Russia! According to the latest updates at our disposal it will be even colder than expected and this time there will be something for everyone!
The days go by and we are getting closer and closer to the official start of the winter season and as is normal, Italy is preparing to chatter.
The reason is to be found in an anticyclone that will tend to stretch, in the coming days, towards the north-eastern sectors of the European continent. This rather northern position will cause theinflow of very cold Russian air masses which will flow on its easternmost edge and which, after crossing the Balkans, will go straight to our country.
Already in recent days Italy has registered a general albeit gradual decline in thermometers responsible for a relatively harsh climatic context, particularly during the night and in the early hours of the day especially in the North, where more than a few frost has already appeared.
We will experience a first thrust of cold air from Russia right at the turn of the weekend. Our beloved Peninsula will swoop into one purely winter weather context, with temperature destined to go down, even reaching below average a few degrees.
So let’s get ready for a new scenario on the weather front that will start right from Saturday 18 when they begin to strengthen the icy winds of Grecale which will significantly affect above all the most exposed areas, i.e. the Adriatic side of the country and a large part of the South, even if the cold it will begin to creep into a good part of the North as well.
A further drop in thermometers is expected in that of Sunday 19 which will be a very cold day for all of Italy: in the North, also thanks to the fog, they can be had temperatures close to freezing even during the day in the plains, especially on the westernmost Valpadana.
Very cold climate expected also in the rest of the country: just think that on the central Adriatic side the daytime values will struggle to exceed the 7/8 ° C threshold and will be only slightly higher in many areas of the South.
But the tense and cutting winds will accentuate the sensation of cold, ready to cause a phenomenon known as Wind Chill: with it we mean a particular effect for which, in the presence of wind, the temperature perceived from our body it turns out to be lower than the real one. Plus the wind is intense and more the temperature goes down. The Wind Chill is an index that is calculated by taking the data of the temperature and that of wind.
Then, after a brief upward jerk of the thermometers expected early next week, the atmosphere will further cool down nel Christmas and New Year period when a very strong wave of frost from Russia will likely envelop the whole of our country, causing a further and severe drop in temperatures across the country.
