All the fault of a somewhat pretentious anticyclone that in its stretch too far towards the north-eastern sectors of the European continent will favor theinflux of frosty air masses which will flow on its easternmost edge and which will head towards the Balkan regions before heading straight for Italy.
In recent days our country has already been the destination of fairly cold currents that are still causing a relatively harsh climatic context, especially during the night and in the early hours of the day, especially in the North, where more than a few frost has already appeared.
Nothing to do, however, with what will happen right at the turn of the weekend when Italy will plunge into a strongly winter weather context with temperature destined to collapse, also going down several degrees below the climatological average of the period.
Except for unlikely surprises, given that there are a few days to go until the event Saturday 18 will begin to reinforce the icy winds of Grecale which will mainly affect the Adriatic side of our country and much of the South even if the cold however, it will also begin to creep into a large part of the northern sectors of our country.
Sunday 19th will be a very cold day for all of Italy: in the North, also thanks to the fog, they can be had temperatures close to freezing even during the day in the plains, especially on the westernmost Valpadana. Ice expected also in the rest of the country: just think that on the central Adriatic side the daytime values will struggle to exceed the 7/8 ° C threshold and will be only slightly higher in many areas of the South.
But the tense and cutting winds will also accentuate the sensation of cold, ready to provoke a phenomenon known as Wind Chill: with it we mean a particular effect for which, in the presence of wind, the temperature perceived from our body it turns out to be lower than the real one. Plus the wind is intense and more the temperature goes down. The Wind Chill is an index that is calculated by taking the data of the temperature and that of wind.
In short, let’s get ready to experience a really rigid and above all rather long parenthesis given that the latest elaborations in our possession indicate a persistence of cold also in the following days and even its further tightening between Christmas time and the end of the year.
