New data in the investigation of the tragedy of Tempo and especially in the part concerning the cover-up, raises the petition filed by the lawyer Vassilis Heatedwho legally represents the family of the deceased driver of the passenger train.
In the indictment, filed before the Larissa public prosecutor’s office, there is talk of “alteration of crucial evidence” and specifically the deletion of 11 minutes of the conversations between the train driver and the Larissa station master shortly before the fatal accident. The deletion was allegedly done in order to incriminate the dead train driver, as the train driver’s family claims.
The indictment was filed against everyone responsible and concerns the “alteration of evidentiary material and the finding of the physical and moral perpetrators of the acts complained of in the indictment. As pointed out in a relevant announcement by the law firm “Zisimatos and associates”, “for a full year since the crime of Tempe and according to the narrative of human error… certain circles initially implied and later brazenly spread that the allegedly four-decade-experienced train driver of of a passenger train acted negligently on the fateful night.” In other words, based on the safety regulations, the train driver “should have, when he realized the error of the station master and her wrong movement in the opposite line, to contact the competent Larissa station master so that he can be given new instructions and orders”. Something he “wasn’t supposed to do.”
However, specific evidence, which has been included in the case file, “shows that while the passenger train stopped a few minutes after its departure from Larissa station in order for the driver to receive new orders from the station master, this same point in time presents an inexplicable 11-minute silence in the audio files of the radio telephone and therefore in their transcription, without this being justified by the totality of subsequent and previous conversations”.
As stated in the relevant announcement, “it becomes obvious that some people, acting on the orders of others, intervened in the recording file with the conversations and deleted the 11 minutes between the time period from 22:56:54 to 23:07:24 for reasons that we all now understand and which should be investigated.
According to the announcement, the train driver “stopped when he realized that he was suddenly changing the line from the ascent to the descent and obviously stopped in order to inform the Larissa station master and receive clear orders.”
“However, this conversation has disappeared from the audio digital files that were delivered in the way they were delivered and presented in the criminal case file” it is characteristically emphasized.
“Based on the above facts… it is certain that some people, on the orders of others, altered crucial evidence to reveal the truth. They intervened without right and in violation of their assigned duties in a recording machine of the OSE and in digital material that recorded all the dialogues of all the persons involved and cut off specific conversations and therefore with absolute malice altering critical evidence material of a criminal, felony nature case file”.
