In Bergen municipality, several nursing homes must use the temporary employment agencies, which thus attracts nurses with very good conditions. The agency Dedicare covers both accommodation and travel costs for nurses who take assignments elsewhere than at home.
The politicians in Bergen strongly disagree on how the municipality should ensure that it gets enough people. SV politician Diane Berbain believes the municipality must take action to outcompete the temp agencies, Conservative Hilde Onarheim believes the municipality must make sure to give its employees more freedom of choice and reduce overtime.
