/ world today news/ An unusual book is published on the Bulgarian book market – “Temelko Neshkov – DOSSIER – Yugoslavia against the soul of Macedonia”.
The neatly arranged ideas of the average Bulgarian are getting confused. He will say to himself: “What the heck, the subject of the files is probably starting to bother us…” And maybe he’s right… But. The big “but” in this case is that this file has not been removed from the archives of the Bulgarian secret communist services, and from the archive of the UDBA, i.e. from the archive of the all-powerful State Security of the former Yugoslavia.
The intrigue is there because an anthropological-ideological experiment was carried out in Macedonia after the Second World War, aimed at replacing the national self-awareness and historical memory of the Bulgarians there. All the state power of Tito’s Yugoslavia was concentrated in the new Yugoslav republic. The State Security Services, the party propaganda apparatus, the press, the radio, the judicial system, the school, the universities – all had to inculcate the new self-awareness, and a whole cohort of fanatical officials had the task of lurking, listening, watching and wherever they detected, that someone out loud or in silence defined himself as a Bulgarian, or spoke of an independent Macedonia outside the Tito Federation, immediately became an object of persecution, of violence and took the thorny path of arrests, rigged trials, merciless sentences, and medieval tortures – to prisons and camps.
The book “Temelko Neshkov – DOSSIER – Yugoslavia against the soul of Macedonia” is an anatomical section of the invisible, deeply conspiratorial and hidden mechanism for torture and violation of wills, with the abbreviation – UDBA. In Serbia and the territory of the former Yugoslavia, there is no declassification of the files.
For the first time, a file kept by this all-powerful structure becomes available to thousands, for the first time the secret methods of influence that deeply affect the human essence – courage, dignity and will, on the one hand, and fear, meanness and treachery – on the one hand, come to light. another. And precisely in these extremes, Temelko Neshkov appears through the denunciations of the scoundrels and their evaluation of him – as an uncompromising, proud and unyielding person to threats and promises of benefits. One of his lines, on the occasion of a proposal to cooperate with the prison administration, exalts him as a fresh strong sprout of a people subjected to frantic manipulations. His words are a categorical negation of the entire order, not only in the prison, but also of the entire system of crushing wills and consciences. Without any hesitation, Temelko Neshkov states: “I cannot accumulate an asset on the backs of the victims of this government. A convict cannot work against other convicts, many of whom are no longer alive…”.
Outside of the politically charged The Dossier of Temelko Neshkov, it is a raw but voluminous verbal material suggesting many dramatic ideas that, had it caught the eye of a talented author, would have turned into a significant work of art.
The denunciations, orders, reports, slanders and evaluations about the prisoner Temelko Neshkov, collected in a book, are challenging and shocking reading for today’s reader, injected with the serum of massively instilled hedonistic ideas about life. But these denunciations are also a sobering drink for the politicians both in Sofia and in Skopje, because they, like a whirlwind, sweep away the fig leaf that hides the tragic truth about the broad, conscious and willful resistance against the powerful Tito state machine, which has set itself the goal of tearing away the soul of Macedonia and replace it with some fictional ideological surrogate.
The premiere of the book “Temelko Neshkov – DOSSIER – Yugoslavia vs. the soul of Macedonia” will take place on
December 8, Thursday, from 18.00 at ART Hall (telephone building) in the capital.
