Ginette, my grandmother, is 84 years old and has always hunted. Every morning, rain, wind or snow, she goes out to explore the woods. Her skill in handling weapons, tracking animals, the dexterity with which she kills them, all this made me want to get my hunting license. I, who, during hunting trips, would tend to identify with Bambi, I hope to succeed in changing sides… Does Ginette’s blood flow in my veins?
“Le sang de Ginette” is a sound creation produced by Sonia Cabrita in 2021 with the help of SCAM, DRAC Nouvelle Aquitaine and Artegia.
Sonia Cabrita makes sound documentaries, leads radio creation workshops, particularly collective fiction, foments programs with associative radios and programs listening sessions with a pronounced taste for the outdoors, the street, the banks of a lake, the undergrowth and for listening devices at the crossroads of the listening room and the funfair. She is interested in small true and disturbing facts, in forms of narration cultivating the confusion between documentary and fiction and I seek to materialize in sounds what connects us in the non-verbal.
