Telkomsel Meets Huawei, This is the Result of the Deal

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Telkom Seluler (Telkomsel) Tbk held a high-level meeting with Huawei discuss about cloud.

The meeting discussed several initiatives to deepen cooperation and strengthen commitment with the aim of improving the quality of life for Indonesians.

Another goal is to strengthen Telkomsel’s position and support Indonesia’s vision to become one economic power leading in the world.

“This meeting provides an opportunity for us to have a deeper discussion in order to find a way forward to strengthen the transformation digital both internally Telkomsel and in Indonesia as a whole through the company’s collaborative efforts, “said President Director of Telkomsel Setyanto Hantoro in a press release, Wednesday (12/5/2021).

“It is Telkomsel’s vision to continue to be the leading digital telecommunications company in Indonesia, as a form of support for the government’s vision of making Indonesia the largest digital economy power in Southeast Asia,” he added.

Realizing this vision, continued Setyanto, Telkomsel is committed to strengthening the company’s three main digital pillars, namely digital connectivity, digital platforms and digital services.

Meanwhile, Chief of Planning and Transformation Officer of Telkomsel Wong Soon Nam said, there are several strategic areas where Telkomsel can collaborate more deeply with Huawei.

Meanwhile, Huawei Technologies Rotating Chairman, Guo Ping, hopes that the meeting can increase cooperation between the two parties.

“We express our gratitude for Telkomsel’s support to Huawei. We hope that through this synergy we can work together in pushing Telkomsel’s position to a higher level in the future,” said Guo Ping.

The summit resulted in several agreements, including an agreement between Telkomsel and Huawei to collaborate on a number of initiatives.

This includes jointly building business and developing networks to drive acceptance rates to orbit, exploring monetization opportunities and use cases, and suggestions to support leadership in technology.

Such as exploring for solutions to maximize return on investment for LTE and 5G technology, joint collaboration to develop FWA services in Indonesia, as well as cooperation in developing 5G technology and solutions for enterprises.

At the end of the meeting, Telkomsel and Huawei signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on HR development. The MoU is in line with Huawei’s commitment to realizing the success of digital transformation in Indonesia, one of which is through the development of digital human resources.

Huawei Indonesia has also targeted within 5 years to successfully develop the capacity of 100,000 human resources in the field of digital technology. The goal is to support the realization of the vision of Indonesia 4.0, which is to make Indonesia the top 10 world economic power in 2030 and the top 5 world economic power in 2045.
