Television. Will the best bakery in France be Côte-d’Orienne (again)?

Remember, it was in October 2019: after a series of tests against formidable competitors, the Dijon bakery Louis Tortochot Bread for tomorrow was crowned best bakery in France in the program of the same name broadcast on the M6 channel. A great recognition for the establishment which, after the broadcast of the last episode, had experienced a great influx of customers, regulars or just curious.

Three selected Côte-d’Oriennes bakeries

The program, carried by the chef Norbert Tarayre and the Meilleur Ouvrier de France baker Bruno Cormerais, returns to your screens from Monday, January 18. And the Côte-d’Or will once again be in the spotlight during a week devoted to the Burgundy region. Three bakeries have been selected in our department: Workshop, in Fontaine-Française; Com’1 Chou, in Saint-Julien; the Bouhot House, in Semur-en-Auxois.

Kevin Michel, manager of Workshop, and Anthony Laidet, at the head of Com’1 Chou, explain that they were registered with the show by their clients. “It fell on me like that,” reacts Kevin Michel. “It’s a show that I’ve watched since its inception, I’ve always wanted to participate. So I accepted the challenge.” For the baker, who looks back on an “intense” and “very hard” competition, it was above all “a great experience”. The same goes for Anthony Laidet, who sees this program as “recognition in relation to our profession”.

Local figures this year

For this new season, local ambassadors from their region will challenge the candidates. For example, Sylvie Tellier, general manager of the organization Miss France, will be present for the competition in Pays-de-la-Loire. For Île-de-France, we will count on the participation of skater Philippe Candeloro. It remains to be seen if a celebrity will be there to wear the colors of Burgundy …

Scheduled for the next few weeks, the exact broadcast date for the Burgundy week is not yet known. The competition will start on Monday in the Pays-de-la-Loire region.
