ElClásico, a match between Barça and Real Madrid, one of the sporting events of greatest interest worldwide, reached this Sunday in Spain an audience of more than 2.1 million viewers through residential pay television, and more than 2.6 million adding the audience of the OTT (over-the-top platform), thus surpassing the data of the first round.
According to official data published by LaLiga and to which Servimedia has had access, the match offered to divide its audience into three channels so that fans of each of the clubs could enjoy the best entertainment experience: the main signal and two multi-camera signals, one for the fans of FC Barcelona and another for the fans of Madrid.
The iconic rivalry between Barça and Real Madrid was present once again on the Camp Nou pitch, with an emotionally charged LaLiga Santander match in which the fans enjoyed a game with maximum tension and a comeback from the Barcelona that achieved victory with a 2-1, thus placing itself 12 points above Real Madrid with 12 days to go.
Due to the growing interest generated by the clashes between the two clubs and the growing international projection of LaLiga, the match could be seen in special events for fans beyond our borders, thanks to the organization of more than 52 activities in more than 28 countries, in collaboration with ‘partners’ and ‘broadcasters’.
Of these events, the festivals in Mexico City, Los Angeles and Ghana stood out, with attendance of 5,000, 2,000 and 1,000 people respectively.

LaLiga leads the world ranking of national football leagues with the most followers on social networks, with 167 million followers on all social networks, thus beating the Premier League (166 million), the Bundesliga (36 million), and Serie A (25 million). Besides, LaLiga also stands out in one of the most important networks currently and the most frequented by the youngest audience, TikTok, where the Spanish competition has more than 13 million followers.
For this reason and given the interest that ElClásico arouses among fans around the world, LaLiga wanted to go one step further in its broadcast offering this Sunday exclusive live content for more than five hours beforeduring and after the game through its TikTok channel.
It was a pioneering experience with which fans were able to complement the live viewing of the game on television with exclusive content on the second screen through TikTok, an option that managed to garner 580,000 views and 275,000 ‘likes’ on straight.
During the preview, the fans had live connections with content creators and commentators from the Camp Nou, the best moments of El Clásico or the last hour of the game with a live signal of the players’ access to the stadium and the warm-up from the grass.
During the broadcast, live connections were made with the Movistar LaLiga TV team of narrators and commentators, with Carlos Martínez, Axel Torres, Casillas, Gaizka Mendieta, Isabel Forner and Albert Fernández, and a live signal was broadcast from the two benches to see the reactions of the coaches of the two teams on the second screen, along with other details of the match. Miguel Torres and Marcos López were in charge of closing the broadcast with the analysis of the meeting.
