Mainz (dpa) – ZDF has filed a criminal complaint against unknown persons after water damage on the transmission area at the Mainz headquarters. A technical defect can be ruled out, and external influence is therefore considered likely, the public broadcaster said on Thursday in Mainz about the criminal complaint. The “T-Online” portal first reported on the water damage. According to the broadcaster, this happened at the end of December at a extinguishing device in the prominent ZDF high-rise building. Offices on several floors were damaged. The damage is insured, the amount is not yet certain due to the ongoing renovation.
