Television | Kevin Durant Produces Documentary About New York’s Leaders

Already involved in the production of several documentary films including “Basketball County: In The Water” on his native region of Baltimore, a veritable breeding ground for NBA players, or even a retracing the career of Stephon Marbury, Kevin Durant will once again be producing a documentary which will be broadcast on Showtime on July 29, and which will be about the leaders of New York.

Entitled “NYC Point Gods”, this film will focus on the journeys of legendary leaders from the Big Apple during the 1980s and 1990s, starting with Rafer Alston, but also Kenny Anderson, Mark Jackson, Stephon Marbury, God Shammgod, Kenny Smith, Rod Strickland and Dwayne “Pearl” Washington.

“As a basketball fan who marveled at the technical and showmanship of these point guards, I couldn’t be prouder of their portrayal in our documentary,” explains Stephen Espinoza, director of sports programs for the channel.New York City has produced some of the most spectacular players in basketball history, players whose creativity and style influence the game to this day. »

This production by Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman is the latest in a line of basketball documentaries broadcast by Showtime, after the one that looked back on the careers of Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant (« Kobe Bryant’s Muse ») or even Metta World-Peace (“ Quiet Storm: The Ron Artest Story »).
