The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulidis, had a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, during which he expressed his sincere and deep condolences to himself, the government and the Cypriot people, for the tragic train accident in Greece that resulted the death of dozens of people.

A related announcement by the Presidency of the Republic of Cyprus states that Mr. Christodoulidis reiterated the readiness of the Republic of Cyprus to assist in any way requested in dealing with the tragedy.

For his part, Mr. Mitsotakis thanked President Nikos Christodoulidis and informed him of the situation as it is developing, as well as the progress of the investigations in relation to the two Cypriot citizens who were on the passenger train and who are still missing.
