Telephone canvassing company fined for violating regulations

Telephone canvassing is a common and supervised practice. In the North, a company that practiced this activity was sentenced to a fine of 24,800 euros. Elle did not respect certain rules as announced by the Hauts-de-France prefecture on Wednesday August 16, 2023.

Problems with the opposition list

It is the company ND consulting which was condemned. She is specialized in offering consumers contracts energy supply (electricity, gas), internet, mobile, bank, credit, insurance. She did not respect certain obligations concerning telephone canvassing. However, since March 1, 2023, heavier penalties have been provided for in this type of case.

The company contacted people who were nevertheless registered on the opposition list at telephone canvassing BLOCTEL. Persons on this list cannot be contacted by canvassers, apart from a few exceptions such as non-profit associations or polling institutes. The company not being one of the exceptions, it was sentenced to a fine of almost 25,000 euros.
