Telenovelas schedules change in Cuba

Cuban television is experiencing a significant change in its programming, since Cubavisión announced through its Facebook profile that starting next Monday, soap opera broadcasts will undergo a time change. The popular soap operas “The Right to Dream” and “Nuevo Sol” will now be broadcast at 8:45 p.m., immediately after the broadcast of Noticiero Estelar, as indicated by the channel on its social networks.

It should be noted that both soap operas will maintain their usual broadcast days. “The Right to Dream”, the Cuban production, can be enjoyed on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, while “Nuevo Sol”, the Brazilian soap opera, will be broadcast on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

This change has generated speculation among viewers, as some suggest that the measure seeks to promote electricity savings during peak viewing times.

The idea behind this decision is that by broadcasting soap operas at the end of the newscast, many people will turn off their televisions after watching their favorite program instead of leaving them on waiting for the soap opera to start at the usual times until today.

In this way, thousands of households are expected to contribute to electricity savings by going to bed earlier.

Without a doubt, viewers will be attentive to these new schedules to enjoy their soap operas, at a time when the country is suffering an acute energy crisis.
