Telenet Giants Antwerp qualified against Bergen (71-86) for the semi-finals of the play-offs on Friday evening, after having already won the first game against the Henegouwers. In the semi-final, the Giants will meet the winner of the Kangaroos Mechelen – Limburg United match. The first match will take place on Wednesday, May 15 (best of five) in the Lotto Arena.
In the second game of the quarterfinals (best of three) Telenet Giants Antwerp confirmed its win two days earlier in the Lotto Arena against Bergen. The Hainauts stayed in the wake of the Sinjoren in the first half (17-21 and 39-43), but had to undergo the law of the strongest in the second half. Roby Rogiers with 18 points (8 on 10 shots), Yoeri Schoepen, Justice Sueing and Nikola Jovanovic pushed through wonderfully in the second half: 53-63.
In the final quarter, star Rasir Bolton also continued to shine. The American shooting guard led Telenet Giants Antwerp to the deserved 71-86 victory with splitting infiltrations. The score in this quarter-final is 1-1 after the 75-70 victory of the Maneblussers against the Hasselt team. A third and decisive match will follow in Hasselt on Sunday.
