The seventh annual Telemundo 52 and NBC4 “Help For The Hungry” campaign returns from 20 November to 31 December to support local food banks and provide millions of meals to families in need in Southern California. Since 2018, “Help For The Hungry” has raised more than $2.6 million in donations and helped provide more than 10.5 million meals throughout Southern California.
Community members can join the campaign and donate any amount by sending a text message to 707070 with the expression H4H or at checkout at Ralphs and Food 4 Less supermarkets. A QR code will also appear on screen during news broadcasts to give viewers another option to donate. To donate, click here.
One hundred percent of donations will go directly to regional food banks and local pantries including Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Second Harvest Orange County, Feeding America’s Inland Empire,y Ventura County Food Share.
Telemundo 52 and NBC4 also partnered with the non-profit organization Central City Community Partners (CCNP) offer food delivery Thursday December 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (while supplies last, first come, first served) at 501 S. Bixel Street, Los Angeles, CA 90017. The event is supported by Los Angeles Regional Foodbank, Goya Foods, Ralphs, Food 4 Less among others who will be present to distribute food.
Throughout the campaign, both stations will cover stories about food insecurity in Southern California. On Telemundo 52, watch the morning newscast, Noticiero Telemundo 52 at 5 AM and 6 AM, Noticiero Telemundo 52 at noon and the news broadcasts at 5 PM, 5:30 PM, 6 PM and 11 PM and Acceso Total a 11: 30 a.m. Tune in to NBC4 for coverage of “Today in LA” from 4 a.m. to 7 a.m., and on the news at 11 a.m., 3 pm, 4 pm, 5 pm, 6 pm, 7 pm, and 11 pm.
Viewers can also watch stories on digital platforms, including the Telemundo 52 and NBC4 mobile apps and on the Roku, Pluto TV and Samsung TV Plus streaming platforms. Also on NBC4 Los Angeles News, the channel dedicated to news on Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming service.
